The colorful first trailer has debuted for the movie adaptation of the classic children's book "A Wrinkle in Time" starring Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling.

Pine starts the nearly two-minute trailer, which was released at the D23 expo Saturday, with a voiceover, a cover of the song "Sweet Dreams" kicks in shortly as a visual cavalcade of colors, costumes and cinematography is shown.

"I saw myself in it, and I saw so many different kinds of people in it," director Ana DuVernay said at the release Saturday. "A family story wrapped in an epic adventure where you see worlds you've never seen before."

The movie opens in theaters March 9.
