UPDATE: Yeah! Burger on North Highland received a 92/A on its follow-up inspection completed Sept. 26. New violations included untreated rust on shelves, a minor leak and unsecured faucets.

ORIGINAL STORY: A manager was fired following a failed health inspection at Yeah! Burger, according to a spokesperson.

Yeah! Burger, located at 1017 North Highland Avenue, scored a 65/U following the Tuesday evaluation.

Officials reported finding "mold buildup in soda gun holster" at the bar and "fly activity" in the main kitchen. Kelly Wallace, marketing and brand development director, emailed The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the following comment:

"The safe and proper preparation of our guests' food is of paramount importance to us, thus this score is extremely unacceptable and is being taken very seriously at YEAH! BURGER. We can assure our guests that this was an isolated incident as we consistently receive grade A scores at our restaurants. We have taken all steps necessary, including the termination of the responsible manager and the hiring of an independent inspector, to ensure that this does not happen again. We sincerely apologize for letting our guests down. Any questions regarding this score can be directed to kelly@yeahburger.com."
Of the eight reports, dating back to 2011, listed on the Fulton County Public Health Inspection page, the recent report was the only failed one for the Virginia-Highland location. All the items were listed as new violations.
