A Gwinnett County woman has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that left a 15-year-old with a broken elbow and staples in his head.

Amanda H. Simpson, 29, of Lilburn, was charged with hit and run resulting in serious injury or death, unsafe distance from bicyclist and improper pass in a no passing zone on Wednesday.

Myles Bonn was biking home from Brookwood High School on Friday when a large car struck him, leaving him seriously injured on the side of the road. Witnesses told police that the driver stopped in a nearby driveway to check her car for damage, but ignored Bonn and his injuries and drove away.

Simpson is being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center on $2,950 bond. She is facing one felony charge and two traffic charges.
