According to LifeLine Animal Project, a nonprofit organization that manages animal services for both DeKalb and Fulton counties, Queen was hit by a car and brought into its DeKalb shelter.

Though her owner had come to reclaim her one day later, he ended up bringing her back when he realized he couldn’t provide the care she needed.

Despite Queen’s pelvic fracture and limited use of her rear legs, “this sweet dog was determined to walk,” Karen Hirsch, a spokeswoman of the shelter told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

LifeLine rescue coordinator Andie Peart reached out to a local aquatic wellness center for pets, Wag N Swim, where Queen has undergone free water therapy with the help of LifeLine employees and volunteers, who take turns driving Queen to class after work.

Wednesday, April 26, marked her second of 12 therapy sessions.

“By the end of the session, she was standing on all four legs and was able to distribute weight evenly!” Hirsch said.

And if she progresses at this rate, Queen will be back to normal by the end of her therapy.
