A Gwinnett County football coach and teacher has been charged with public indecency, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Allen Reeves Blankenship, 24, was arrested Tuesday evening and released from jail shortly after midnight. A woman called police after Blankenship exposed his genitals in the parking lot of a Lawrenceville Hobby Lobby, a warrant says.

Blankenship is a science teacher and outside linebacker coach for the football team at Brookwood High School. Blankenship also attended Brookwood, graduating in 2011, and played on its football team as a student.

Gwinnett County Public Schools is aware of the arrest, but a spokesman could not share more information because it is a human resources matter.

Phyllis Miller, Blankenship’s attorney, said that Blankenship was a “fine young man” that she had known for most of his life.

“We ask that he be given the benefit of the doubt until all the facts are out and the investigation is complete,” Miller said in a statement.
