The Fayette County Board of Education has approved student voter registration events at its high schools in April. The board voted 5-0 on March 6 to approve a request by John Biggs of the Catholic Church of St. Gabriel in Fayetteville to conduct the nonpartisan registration, with the consent of the school principals.

Registration will occur during lunch periods on April 10-11 at Fayette County High, April 13-14 at Sandy Creek, April 17-18 at McIntosh, April 20-21 at Starr’s Mill and April 24-25 at Whitewater. Students must be U.S. citizens who are at least age 17 ½ at the time of registration and 18 by Election Day.
