The Peachtree Corners City Council has contracted with Waste Management to provide trash collection and recycling services. All new bids received by the city cost more than the current $11.50 per month. There will be a cost increase to $14.88 per month which will be billed annually and included on citizen’s Gwinnett County tax bill. Residents age 65 and over will be eligible for a 15 percent discount. Yard waste pickup will be $6.25 (for 10 bags).

Waste Management will begin providing service to Peachtree Corners residents, and the commercial business community, the first week of January 2019.

According to the city’s Mayor Mike Mason, benefits include quiet-running compressed natural gas trucks for clean burning transportation fuel which produces the fewest emissions over other fuels, new 96-gallon wheeled garbage carts for all residents and new 64-gallon wheeled recycling carts. Backdoor services will be provided to those disabled or physically incapable of taking the cart to the road.
