Temperatures dip into the 40s across parts of metro Atlanta

Meterologist Brian Monahan has your Monday morning weather forecast.

Morning lows were well below normal early Monday, dipping into the 40s across much of metro Atlanta, but forecasters are predicting a return to normal temperatures later this week.

Lows early Monday included 43 in Cartersville, 47 in Peachtree City, 48 in Chamblee and near Mableton, 49 in Marietta and 54 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Atlanta’s normal low for mid-September is 66, the normal high 83.

Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said highs will be in the upper 70s Monday afternoon, but should be in the low 80s Tuesday through Thursday and mid-80s on Friday.

Monahan said lows will be in the upper 50s early Tuesday, low 60s Wednesday and mid-60s Thursday and Friday.

The week should be dry, with no rain in Monahan’s forecast through Friday.
