The Suwanee City Council voted Tuesday to approve several items related to the Buford Highway reconstruction project.

AECOM, the company completing the design for the project, was approved for an increase of $68,500 to cover some work not in the original contract. In the next agreement, Suwanee will reimburse Georgia Power for 71 percent of the cost to relocate the overhead power lines associated with the project for a total of $1,015, 627.

In addition, the city will cover the cost of converting existing overhead power lines that cross Buford Highway to underground lines at a cost of $135,910.
