Powder Springs will receive $52,696 from Cobb County to complete its special-needs playground at the Silver Comet Trail Linear Park on Richard Sailors Parkway.

The rest of the $179,434 to GameTime is being paid by a Resurgens Charitable Foundation Grant.

City Manager Pam Conner said the county funding from the Community Development Block Grant also will pay for other American Disabilities Act features “such as additional parking and any sidewalk extensions or access points for the mobility impaired.”

Already the park has a concession stand, restrooms, a covered picnic area, a playground, a climbing structure, a covered area with a variety of exercise equipment and water fountains for pets and water bottles.

A covered basketball court will be added later.
