A Smyrna man arrested Saturday at SunTrust Park is the first person to be charged in connection to crimes at the new stadium.

Kevin Thompson was booked into Cobb County’s jail after officers arrested him at 11 p.m. Saturday, jail records show.

He faces misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, public intoxication and assault.

Thompson was released on a $4,000 bond.

A second Smyrna man, Jarmarkus Cason, was arrested on a DUI charge about 1 p.m. Sunday near SunTrust Park.

Cason was pulled over at Cobb and Herodian parkways with an open container of alcohol, jail records state. He was released on a $1,600 bond.

When the Atlanta Braves officially open the season at their new stadium in Cobb County the Braves will allow outside food into SunTrust Park so long as it fits in a clear, gallon-size container. Fans should not carry any prohibited items.

Since March, Georgia-based Mana Nutrition has accumulated about 300,000 boxes of therapeutic food in its warehouse near Savannah, said Mark Moore, the organization’s co-founder and CEO. Mana’s supply is awaiting shipment to countries in sub-Saharan Africa. “No one is being served by it sitting here,” Moore said. “It is just the sort of sadness of: Why would we not have it out there?” (Matt Odom for Mana Nutrition)
