A townhome development was approved Monday by the Smyrna City Council.

The 26 townhomes will be located on 3.35 acres behind the former Quik Trip at King Springs Road and South Cobb Drive. On average, the townhomes will cost $345,000 with a large central green space and will be developed by the Waters Edge Group.

During the public hearing, Howard Martin and Alex Backry expressed concerns about the increased traffic and too many townhome and condominium developments being approved by the city.
