Cobb County crews have been at it since Tuesday night trying to make the roads safe as 1½ inches of snow hit some parts of the county.

They have laid down hundreds of tons of salt and more than a thousand tons of gravel.

The county provided a map of the nearly 65 spots where road workers have either tried to clear or successfully eliminated ice from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 2 p.m. Thursday.

The map below doesn’t include all of the slick spots handled by city crews, but you can get a sense of what the county has been facing.

Marietta superintendent Grant Rivera posted on Facebook about snow days. Thursday will be the sixth missed school day because of weather. Rivera noted Marietta City Schools get four discretionary days. He said he will make a decision about making up school in the future. He said he is thinking about making up time in a way that has the least negative impact on families and staff.
