Lake Forrest Drive between Stewart Drive and Burdett Road in Sandy Springs is scheduled to be closed from July 31 to Aug. 4 as crews conduct “vegetation management” in the right-of-way, officials said.

Weather permitting, crews will be removing trees along steep slopes and doing other work between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. the days of the closure, officials said. “The maintenance work is needed as a safety precaution for the traveling public,” they said.

On-site message boards will warn of the closure in advance. Lake Forrest south of I-285 in Sandy Springs was closed in 2013 and again this past March because of falling debris and concerns over the stability of the slopes along the street.
