A series of car break-ins around Sandy Springs ended with the arrest of four juvenile suspects, who police say are responsible for 14 similar incidents in the area.

The arrests stem from a Sept. 24 incident on the 7700 block of Glisten Avenue at the Highlands of Sandy Springs townhouse subdivision. Police were called to the area after a homeowner said he observed three black male juvenile suspects standing next to a neighbor’s 2014 Ford Explorer.

Police went to the Ford Explorer's location and noticed the car door was slightly ajar and that the glove box was open. The vehicle’s owner later spoke to police and said she noticed her black Tumi computer bag and work computer were missing.

Police chased the four juvenile suspects — ranging in age from 11 to 16 — to a nearby parking deck. Police blocked the entrance of the parking deck with a vehicle and two suspects were caught. The other two suspects fled the scene but were caught shortly after.

During initial interviews, the suspects told police they took MARTA buses to Sandy Springs to “meet girls.”

Several stolen items were found by police, including an Armani wristwatch, debit and credit cards, cell phones, laptops, identification cards, driver’s licenses, wallets, and cash — all valued at $1,970. One juvenile searched was found with an orange flashlight and three cell phones in his possession.
