One of the two routes to get to the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center will close for six weeks because of a construction project, the county said.

A section of Langley Drive will be closed at Constitution Boulevard up to the GJAC parking lot starting Oct. 20. The construction project is designed to “reopen and upgrade Langley Drive and the building’s entry plaza,” according to a county release.

While the route to the courthouse parking lot is closed, drivers will have to take a detour from Constitution Boulevard to Nash Street, which will lead them to the complex’s second entrance at Nash Street and Langley Drive.

The county cautions visitors to GJAC, including those who have jury duty, to allow extra travel time during the scheduled closure. There will be overflow parking available on the top floor of a parking deck behind GJAC on Mondays and Tuesdays and in the Nash Street parking lot every day.

After construction is complete, work will move to the east side of Langley Drive. The project will open one lane of traffic in each direction on the road, add a left turn lane into the GJAC parking lot and add new features including more handicap parking and a designated drop-off area.
