S.J. Collins Enterprises of Fairburn, one of six developers that submitted proposals, has been chosen to redevelop a prime commercial parcel in Roswell known as the Southern Skillet site, for the popular restaurant that once operated there.

The Roswell Downtown Development Authority announced its selection of S.J. Collins for the Alpharetta Highway tract. The DDA said it would sign a $5 million purchase and sale agreement with Collins, with a closing targeted for June and construction starting by year's end. Information: https://bit.ly/2sz1Ix9

Collins proposed a mixed-use project, “City Center,” with 70,740 square feet for a boutique grocery store, restaurants, shops and offices; 128 apartments, and eight townhouses. The multi-family units are expected to lease for $2.05 per square foot, and townhouses will be priced between $650,000 and $850,000. Plans also call for 6,000 to 8,000 square feet of green space.

Collins’ other projects include Peachtree Station in Chamblee, North Decatur Square, and Victory Station in Savannah.

City Center “will truly be a catalyst for redevelopment in this area … making this area an even more vibrant gathering place for our residents and visitors,” Roswell Mayor Lori Henry said.
