The Roswell City Council has approved a $91,122 contract with TY Lin International to design a proposed trail along Foe Killer Creek.

The engineering consultant will be responsible for concept, preliminary and right-of-way plans, construction documents and permitting for the trail, a soft-surface path from Dotsie Garner Mills Park on the east to the Old Ellis Road/Sun Valley Extension on the west, according to a staff report to the council.

The Foe Killer Creek Trail will be 1,900 feet long and have a modest trailhead with parking near the park. Future plans have the trail crossing the creek as part of the Sun Valley Phase II project.

Design work is expected to take four to six months, Steven Acenbrak, director of transportation of Roswell, said at a recent council meeting. After acquiring right-of-way, the city may start construction next summer.
