The entity that seeks to drum up business and visitors for Roswell announced it has changed its name to Roswell Economic Development and Tourism Inc.
“Changing our name allows our organization to better and more fully reflect our scope of work while also making our mission clearer to those with whom we do business,” said Ken Davis, president of the board of directors of the organization formerly known as the Historic Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Roswell EDT’s tourism program, Visit Roswell, and economic development program, Roswell Inc, will continue to go by those names, officials said.
Besides announcing the new name, directors at the July 18 board meeting updated the organization’s bylaws to allow the creation of new advisory committees for tourism and economic development. “These committees will allow board members with interest in either or both areas to specifically support tourism or economic development initiatives,” Roswell EDT said.
