A team from a national law enforcement accreditation organization is to visit Roswell on Oct. 24 to determine if the city’s 911 system is eligible for accreditation. CALEA

Members of the public can contribute comments when assessors from a national accreditation organization visit Roswell later this month to examine the police department’s 911 emergency communications division.

Officials of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA) arrive in Roswell on Oct. 24 to determine if the 911 system complies with more than 200 standards for accreditation. The delegation will review written materials, interview individuals and visit the 911 Center, agency offices and other locations.

Agency employees and the public can submit comments of up to 10 minutes by telephone, 770-640-4182, from 1 to 3 p.m., Oct. 24. Comments must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards, officials said.
