Harar Mart, near the Clarkston campus of Georgia State University, failed its recent health inspection due to concerns about insects.

The business, located at 4890 Memorial Drive, got a 62 on the check last Thursday, according to the inspector's report.

The report said roaches, flies and gnats were found in the business. Also of concern for the inspector was egg shells stored in a bin with whole tomatoes and meat stored on the floor in a bowl with the store packaging on it.

There was no signage on handwashing at the sink, and the inspector also took issue with the person in charge not being able to answer questions about proper food storage methods.

A message left at the restaurant wasn’t immediately returned Wednesday.

Restaurants that fail inspections are generally rechecked within 10 days.
