The northbound lane of Northwinds Parkway between Rowan Avenue and Kimball Bridge Road in Alpharetta will be closed starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, to repair damage caused by a developer’s utility work, city officials announced.

The road is expected to reopen Friday, Sept. 21. Residents of the adjacent Braeden Neighborhood will be able to access the northbound lane from Rowan Avenue.

Contractors working for the Pulte Group will complete the repairs, and no public funds will be used, officials said.

“The road section constructed by Pulte began to sink soon after it was open for use because of boring that took place to install underground utilities related to their development,” said Alpharetta Public Works Director Pete Sewczwicz.

Sewczwicz said Pulte Group took full responsibility, quickly determined the cause of the problem, devised a solution and scheduled the work. Information: https://bit.ly/2NIABvL
