UPDATE: Wednesday's Powerball drawing numbers are 52, 10, 61, 28, 13 and the Powerball number is 2.

ORIGINAL STORY: Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot could be the 10th-largest in the game's history.

The prize has steadily climbed to $403 million, with a $243.9 million cash value, according to Georgia Lottery officials.

Looking to strike it rich? Today could be your day.

Players have until 10 p.m. to buy the $2 tickets, according to lottery officials. The drawing is held at 10:59 p.m. on Channel 2 Action News.

The odds of winning Powerball are about 1 in 292,201,338.

But it’s not impossible.

After rolling over 19 times, a history-making $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot finally found homes with winners in California, Florida and Tennessee last January.

Winning isn't everything, though, and players should expect a barrage of con artists, lawsuit filers and taxes when they win.

Michael Camp of Covington recently claimed the $9.6 million jackpot prize from the Feb. 6 Jumbo Bucks Lotto drawing, Lottery spokeswoman Nia Roberts said. Camp bought his ticket at the Golden Pantry on Salem Road.

All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program and Georgia’s Pre-K program.

More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.4 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program, Roberts said.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
