Police arrested an Alpharetta man on Wednesday on charges of possessing child pornography.

Kendall Latrell Bowen, 70, was arrested at his home on Batesville Road and faces 12 counts of possession of child pornography, police said. Milton police said they anticipate additional charges will be filed.

Following a "CyberTip" from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Milton Police Department got a warrant and searched Bowen's home, where police said he lived alone.

Police took several electronic devices, including a laptop in use at the time the warrant was executed, from the house. In addition to the pornographic images found on the laptop, a search of a USB storage device recovered from the house contained images of “obvious child pornography.”

Bowen was transferred to the Fulton County jail.

Milton detectives continue to review the remaining devices seized from Bowen's home.

"The investigation is ongoing and we will update the community as new information is available," said Milton Police Chief Rich Austin. "It's through partnerships with organizations like the NCMEC that local law enforcement are better positioned to protect and serve some of our most vulnerable residents, our children."

Records show Bowen will have a preliminary hearing on May 18.
