Local authorities warned residents of a possible bear sighting in Gwinnett County on Saturday.

In a Facebook post, the city of Sugar Hill alerted residents that they may be a bear roaming in the area.

"Please be advised that there has been a bear sighting in Arbor Clos subdivision. Remember to stay away from wild animals and call animal control if you see the bear."

Gwinnett police confirmed that the department has received multiple calls concerning a bear sighting in Sugar Hill

A spokesperson for Gwinnett police told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that police officers could not visually locate the reported animal.

Earlier this week in metro Atlanta, school officials spotted a young black bear at an elementary and middle school in Forsyth County.
