The public is invited to an open house on “Last Mile Connectivity” – the challenge of getting people from public transportation like MARTA to final destinations such as residences, offices and shopping – later this month in Sandy Springs.

The event is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, in the Georgia Conference Room-Suite 335, Northpark 400 Town Center office complex, 1000 Abernathy Road. Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, Dunwoody and the Perimeter Community Improvement District will hold identical presentations at 6:15, 6:45 and 7:15 p.m.

Maps, study recommendations and other materials will be displayed, and staff members will be available to answer questions and take comments.

The AJC previously reported that the four entities are conducting a $100,000 study to look at ways to better connect transit and destinations in the Perimeter Mall area. All forms of transportation are on the table – from automated trains like those at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, to light rail, shuttle buses and other ideas.
