The Peachtree Corners City Council recently reviewed a proposed zoning amendment to regulate outdoor vending and storage lockers. The proposed amendment would restrict bank ATM units, movie and other vending machines, newspaper racks, drink machines, ice boxes and storage lockers.

As currently proposed, the regulations would limit the devices to non-residential areas and restrict their size to 10 feet or less. Other restrictions limit a maximum of two storage devices visible from the street. Out‐of‐store marketing devices must be located no more than five feet from the primary building on the property unless the city’s community development director approves an alternate location.

The city will have a second read and public hearing of the amendment Dec. 20 before a final vote.
