The Peachtree City Fire Department is offering help to residents who lack proper smoke detection devices. The city is working with the Metro Atlanta Fire Chiefs Association and ABC’s Operation Save a Life to improve home safety measures in time for the holidays. Anyone who does not have smoke detectors or who needs assistance checking the condition of the devices or replacing batteries in them can call Assistant Fire Marshal Jeff Felmet at 770-631-2091 or email jfelmet@peachtree-city.org to arrange for a firefighter to make a home visit.
