Peachtree City is giving its employees a 2.5 percent cost-of-living salary increase. The City Council voted 5-0 to approve the measure at its Dec. 7 meeting, during which City Manager Jon Rorie noted that the staff has not received a raise since 2014.

The city was originally considering a 2 percent increase, but did an analysis based on the Consumer Price Index to account for inflation. Some health insurance costs have decreased recently, but employees are also paying higher co-pays and deductibles. The extra half percent will increase the city’s budget by $62,280 above the $249,113 already allocated.
