Parents of an 8-month-old Forsyth boy who died Thursday have been charged with murder and child cruelty, officials say.

Sanchez Ussery, 25, called 911 after he said he couldn’t revive his son with CPR, according to a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The baby, also named Sanchez Ussery, had been put to sleep in his crib about 10 p.m., the elder Ussery told deputies.

He found his son unresponsive shortly after midnight, the report states.

Medical officials called the sheriff’s office when they noticed bruising on the boy’s chest and the right side of his stomach.

The boy’s mother, 23-year-old Latorrica Allen, told the deputy she only arrived home from work about the time Ussery was trying to revive her son.

The parents were arrested Friday, following interviews with deputies.
