Over $11M in transportation projects awarded to Northeast region

Georgia DOT will resurface 7.885 miles of State Route 323 at State Route 11/ US 129, one of several projects approved as part of $11 million in transportation projects awarded to Northeast Georgia. Google Maps

The Georgia Department of Transportation recently awarded five transportation project contracts representing a total investment of $11,044,158 for infrastructure in Northeast Georgia.

A roundabout project in Dawson county was awarded to Baldwin Paving of Marietta. This project will improve safety and operation at the intersection of State Route 52 at State Route 183. The project’s scheduled completion is spring of 2020.

Safety is also going to be enhanced with a cable barrier installation project in Oconee and Clarke counties along the State Route 10 loop. Massana Construction, Inc. of Tyrone, Georgia will complete this project by the end of Aug. 2018.

Resurfacing projects in Hall and Forsyth counties make up more than half of the $11 million in contracts awarded.

C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. Inc. of Marietta, Georgia will complete resurfacing projects including 7.885 miles of State Route 323 at State Route 11/ US 129, 4.196 miles of State Route 369 from the Forsyth county line to State Route 53, and 8 miles of State Route 20 from the Cherokee county line to south of Samaritan Drive in Forsyth. These projects are scheduled for completion in Oct. 2018.
