UPDATE: The restaurant was re-inspected and received a 90/A. It was cited for new violations, including "raw goat meat stored in (a) trash bag" in a cooler.

ORIGINAL STORY (published Dec. 14): An Indian restaurant failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting "failure by person in charge to demonstrate active managerial control."

Aachi's Indian Restaurant & Bakery, located at 11550 Jones Bridge Road in Johns Creek near Alpharetta, scored a 57/U following the Tuesday evaluation.

Aachi's had a grand opening in September, according to its Facebook page.

According to the report, there was "build up of food debris on equipment throughout main kitchen area."

Officials also reported a container of raw fish stored above ready-to-eat sauces and a container of raw chicken stored on top of a container of cooked chicken in a walk-in cooler.

A man who answered the phone at the restaurant Wednesday morning did not comment.

Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
