Directly across the street from a desolate site where a proposed restaurant is held up in legal limbo, construction workers moved  busily about Wednesday morning.

The Reserve at Brookhaven Village, "an enclave of five custom built homes starting high $900s," is going up on fives contiguous lots inside Ashford Park at Caldwell Road and Green Meadows Lane.

Lots one and two are still available, with the other three under contract. Four homes are slated for completion by the end of this year or the first few weeks of 2017, with the fifth slated for March, according to Nicholas Brown of BrownDaniel and Beacham & Company Realtors.

They will have 10-foot ceilings, outdoor entertainment areas and wood-burning fireplaces, according to the website.
