New Forsyth County sheriff’s website debuts

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s office has launched its new website.

The new site went live last week and contains a number of new facets and tools, including a crime data mapping tool and a searchable sex offender database. There’s also an extensive “How do I” section, which spells out how county residents and others can do everything from filing a traffic incident report to getting various kinds of business permits to finding out whether someone they know is in jail. Detailed contact information for sheriff’s employees is also included.The sheriff’s office Facebook page is also displayed on the front page of the site.

Spokesman Doug Rainwater said the site was created by the department’s in-house IT unit.
