Today is the first day you can get a beef patty on top of a veggie burger in Gwinnett County: BurgerFi, a “chef-driven” hamburger restaurant, has opened in Lawrenceville.

The shop is run by brothers Shahravi and Hasnain Lakhani. At ages 25 and 21, it’s their first venture into the culinary world.

“We are excited to introduce Gwinnett County to our unrivaled better burger offerings in a fun, family dining experience” Shahravi Lakhani said in a release. “We look forward to eventually expanding our footprint and bringing our modern twist to great-tasting food to other surrounding communities as well.”

The menu ranges from traditional hamburgers and veggie burgers to a Wagyu-and-brisket patty topped with truffle aioli. The "Conflicted Burger” pairs a house-made veggie patty with traditional beef, sure to horrify vegetarians everywhere.

The Lawrenceville location on Duluth Highway is the sixth in Georgia, joining three in Atlanta, one in Kennesaw and one in Alpharetta.
