The Zoning Advisory Board recommended approval of a mixed-use rezoning request.

The Henry County Zoning Advisory Board voted at its Nov. 8 regular meeting to recommend approval of a rezoning request for 84 acres at the northeast corner of Lester Mill Road at Bill Gardner Parkway, west of Interstate 75.

The proposed change is from PD (planned development) to MU (mixed use), and the preliminary conceptual site plan is a mixed-use commercial and residential development that includes lofts above retail, two-story townhomes and single-family residential lots. Also included are community buildings and about three acres of future development identified as flex space. County staff recommended approval with conditions.

The request will now be heard by the Henry County Board of Commissioners in the near future.
