All over metro Atlanta, there are Kool Smiles offices that want to give children toys in exchange for their Halloween candy.

Kool Smiles is taking candy from metro Atlanta children.

But they’re giving them toys in return.

The dentistry chain will give children a toy (the limit is three) for every 25 unopened pieces of candy.

Where is all that candy going? To troops overseas and at home.

This is the seventh year of “Operation Troop Treats,” which runs until Saturday. Candy donators are also encouraged to write letters of thanks to service members.

“Operation Troop Treats promotes healthy dental habits during Halloween, and brings a little bit of holiday joy to U.S. service members deployed overseas and those who are with us here at home,” said Dr. Kimberly Brown, the Kool Smiles dental director.

The company will also donate 200 dental care kits and the funds to cover sending the care packages filled with letters of appreciation, food, entertainment and hygiene items.

• Kool Smiles Atlanta, 5495 Old National Highway in Atlanta
