A memorial will be held this evening at Banneker High School in Atlanta for three teens killed in a car accident after they left homecoming festivities.

Jerrett and Jaylen Mumford, 18 and 16 years old, and Ibrahim Sankoh, 18 years old died after their car crashed about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Buffington and Royal South Parkway in Union City. Police have not released any details about their investigation of the crash. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office said Wednesday that it had not ruled on causes of death for the teens.

The Mumfords and Sankoh had all attended Banneker, and Jerrett and Ibrahim were recent graduates. Jaylen had transferred from Banneker to Westlake High School about a week ago to complete his junior year. Jerrett had returned to Banneker Sunday along with his little brother and Ibrahim to participate in the homecoming court coronation at their alma mater. Jerrett had been “Mr. Banneker High School” for 2016, and it was his duty to crown the new Mr. Banneker at the ceremony.

All three of the young men were popular at the school and were involved in sports, from football, to baseball to soccer. Duke Bradley principal of Banneker said his school was still reeling from the loss of three kids considered to be student leaders. Jerrett was enrolled at Alabama State University as was supposed to head back to that campus on Sunday after the coronation.

Their memorial begins at 6:30 p.m., at Banneker, 6015 Feldwood Road, Atlanta. Bradley, the boys coaches, students and the Mumford’s sister are expected to speak.

Ibrahim, the oldest of three boys in his family, was buried Tuesday in a private ceremony. The Mumford brothers had two other siblings, including another brother. The Mumford’s funeral will be on Monday, 11 a.m., at Friendship Community Church in Fairburn.
