Atlanta Chinese eatery passes re-inspection despite report of flies

Georgia has rules it requires every food service operation to follow. These are just a few of the many health and safety regulations.

UPDATE: The restaurant passed a re-inspection Thursday with an 81/B. The new report noted nearly 10 violations, including a "heavy presence of flies in main kitchen," "build up inside of drink nozzles" and an old inspection report displayed for patrons instead of the recent failed one. ORIGINAL STORY (June 22): A Chinese restaurant failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting it is in need of a thorough "deep cleaning."

Lucky Buddha, located at 529 10th St. NW, scored a 64 following the Friday afternoon evaluation; 69 and below is considered failing. Its prior score, from December, was an 80/B.

The restaurant also failed two inspections last year.

According to the recent report, there was “an accumulation of a black mold like substance on the chute of the ice dispenser of the beverage machine.”
