A man in his 30s who was shot early Sunday in southwest Atlanta has died from his injuries, Atlanta police said.

Police responded to a shooting call in a parking lot in the 300 block of Fairburn Road about 1:40 a.m. and found 38-year-old Terry Tolbert of Atlanta shot twice in the face and three times in the chest.

Tolbert was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, police said.

The shooting was one of many incidents overnight Sunday.

Police said Sunday they also were investigating a call in which a woman was shot in the leg and a bullet grazed the back of a man. The incidents happened in the same block as the fatal shooting on Fairburn Road.

Police did not say whether they believed the shooting was related to the Fairburn Road fatality.

In addition, a man was shot in the hand and butt on Sunday in the 1600 block of Gordon Street in southwest Atlanta.

Police did not provide additional details.

About 9 a.m. Sunday, a child was shot in the neck in northwest Atlanta and rushed to the hospital.
