A man accused of carjacking a Sandy Springs victim during the daytime earlier this month has been arrested.

Frederick Louis Spears allegedly had a gun when he approached a man standing in his Spalding Creek Court driveway. It was just after 1 p.m on a Sunday.

Spears forced the man into the victim's own BMW, drove to a nearby ATM and demanded cash before taking off in the car, police say.

Spears, 21, has been charged with the Feb. 5 hijacking a motor vehicle, carjacking, kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

He is in the DeKalb County jail awaiting transfer to Fulton County.

A carjacker who attacked a man outside his home and forced him to pull money from an ATM is still on the run.
