In a recent publication by the city, Loganville officials note an increase in the number of building permits this past year. The city reports five new subdivisions under construction in 2016 with 394 lots. An additional three subdivisions were nearing their final phase of completion, representing another 215 lots.

The number of overall permits continues to rise in the city, with 509 issued in 2016, an increase from 412 in 2015 and 244 in 2014. Of the total number issued in 2016, 149 were for single-family homes. This represents about a 65 percent increase over the 90 issued in 2015. Other residential permits issued in 2016 were for accessory structures like fences, decks, pools, and roofing.

Seven of the 59 commercial building permits issued in 2016 were for new businesses. Overall, the city experienced a slight decrease in the number of business licenses compared to 2015, from 1,132 to 1,101 in 2016.
