A Kennesaw woman was killed in a crash Sunday night on Cobb Parkway, police said.

Tatyana Mays, 22, was driving in the northbound left lane as Peggy Patterson, 79, was stopped on Keene Street. Patterson, in a Buick sedan, then entered into the path of Mays’ Ford Taurus, Cobb County police confirmed.

The Ford struck the Buick on the driver’s side door.

Mays came to a stop at the median. Patterson traveled farther northbound and came to an uncontrolled stop in the center median against the guard rail.

Patterson was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival, according to police. Mays was also taken to Kennestone with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not expect to file charges.
