Kennesaw's Camp McDonald Park is in the running to win a $25,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and its "This Place Matters" community challenge. To win, residents are encouraged to go online at www.CampMcDonaldPark.org and vote. The deadline to vote is June 30. Kennesaw is one of 100 finalists competing for the cash award and the money would be used to help develop and preserve the 7.5 acre site across from city hall. The site was used in the 1860's as a Confederate soldier training ground.
