Kennesaw Councilwoman Yvette Daniel has announced her resignation “effective immediately,” according to a Jan. 12 statement from Miranda Jones, assistant to City Manager Jeff Drobney.

Daniel has notified Mayor Derek Easterling and Drobney of her resignation from the Post 2 council seat, citing “personal reasons as the cause of her resignation” and asking that “the privacy of her family be respected during this time.”

The Mayor and Council will meet within the week to discuss plans for a special election to fill the vacated Post 2 seat for the term that expires in 2019.
