UPDATE: See how north Fulton County voted in the 6th district runoff on June 20.

Karen Handel should be thanking voters in Milton.

In Tuesday’s election, there were just 11 precincts in Georgia’s 6th congressional district where Democrat Jon Ossoff didn’t carry the vote and eight of those were in Milton, won by Handel.

An AJC map illustrating how neighborhoods voted shows a ton of blue for precincts won by Ossoff and a little yellow for the three precincts won by former Johns Creek councilman Bob Gray. But the red in north Fulton County can't be ignored. That represents where Handel won.

Handel, 55, garnered the majority of Republican votes on Tuesday and since Ossoff fell short of the 50 percent mark, the two will face a runoff election on June 20.

A breakdown of the precincts Handel won:

ML012 (Handel: 33%, Ossoff: 28%, Moody: 16%)

ML021 (Handel: 35%, Ossoff: 23%, Gray: 20%)

ML023 (Handel: 35%, Ossoff: 25%, Gray: 16%)

ML03 (Handel: 36%, Ossoff: 28%, Gray: 16 %)

ML072 (Handel: 36%, Ossoff: 28%, Moody: 12%)

ML05B (Handel: 34%, Ossoff - 30%, Gray - 15%)

ML04B (Handel - 34%, Ossoff: 31%, Gray: 16%)

ML024 (Handel: 42%, Moody: 26%, Ossoff: 11%)

Ossoff won 10 precincts in Milton and Gray took a victory in ML071.

Overall, Handel — Georgia’s former Secretary of State — won 19.8 percent of the vote, nearly 30 points behind Ossoff, but nine points ahead of the nearest Republican, Gray.
