Johns Creek, you may now burn outdoors again (with approval)

Johns Creek has lifted its temporary prohibition of outdoor burning.
However, outdoor burning requires approval prior to conducting burning activity, according to a Wednesday release.
The city imposed the outdoor ban on controlled burning of yard debris in November.

“We encourage everyone to use appropriate, safe burning practices if they decide to conduct any outdoor burning,” said Johns Creek Fire Marshal Chad McGiboney.
The city's burning guidelines are as follows:
Guidelines
- Contact the Fire Marshal's Office prior to any outdoor burning for approval at 678-512-3363. Please fill out this form prior to any outdoor burning.
- The Fire Marshal may prohibit any or all outdoor fires when atmospheric conditions or local circumstances make such fires hazardous.
- No burning is permitted when prevailing winds are in the direction of populated areas.
- No burning is permitted when there is fog, rain, or cloud bases that are diffused, or ill defined, or for at least one (1) day following the passage of a cold front.
- No burning is permitted during an air pollution episode,* such as an air pollution alert / warning / emergency declared by proper authorities.
