Johns Creek has put out a call for volunteers to serve on municipal boards and commissions that make decisions and advise the mayor and City Council about development, the arts and recreation.

The city is seeking people to serve on the Planning Commission, which reviews zoning cases; and the Board of Zoning Appeals and Construction Board of Appeals, which handle cases involving variances, interpretation of codes and appeals of staff decisions.

Volunteers also are sought for the Arts and Culture Board, which makes recommendations about enriching the city’s cultural scene; the Public Art Board, which reviews proposals for public art; and the Recreation & Parks Advisory Committee, which provides input and recommendations on city-owned parks and recreation programs.

"Board members must reside within the city limits and must be able to attend two-thirds of the meetings within a calendar year," the city says. To apply online: https://bit.ly/2pkmd1A
