The Holly Springs City Council has awarded an engineering consulting contract for the parking deck in the city’s proposed Town Center downtown development.

According to the firm’s proposal to Holly Springs, the deck is expected to be of prestressed, precast concrete, independent of other buildings, aesthetically compatible with surrounding structures, and with stair and elevator towers, gated access and no retail space.

Kimley Horn’s proposal also anticipated being prime design consultant to the general contractor during construction, which is expected to take nine months.

It listed billings for basic services of $161,000 in “lump sum labor fees” and a “not to exceed hourly budget” of $79,900 if the city retains the firm for the construction phase.
