Holly Springs has added one more district for retail sales of package distilled spirits, bringing to six the total number of locations where a license for such sales may be issued.

The City Council added an area designated “Sixes,” northwest of the interchange of Interstate 575 and Sixes Road, to its Distilled Retail Sales District Map. The city’s liquor ordinance limits distilled spirits package sales to commercial areas fronting major local streets.

Other districts are on Holly Springs Parkway/Main Street east of the I-575 Exit 14 interchange, southeast of Toonigh Road, and north and south of East Cherokee Drive; and along Hickory Flat Highway (Ga. 140) east and west of Bart Manous Road, and west of East Cherokee Drive.

The city allows no more than one package store license per district. At non-conforming locations, previously licensed package stores are grandfathered in provided they haven’t ceased operations, changed hands or had their occupation tax permit lapse or revoked at some point.
